Meghalaya, Mawsynram,Raj k Raj/ Hindustan Times,wettest place on Earth

Meghalaya, Mawsynram 08 Aug2013 : People walking in weekly market in Mawsynram village , Cherrapunji is credited as being the second wettest place on Earth after Mawsynram. Both these places are located in the North Eastern part of India. Mawsynram is a small village located in the East Khasi Hills district of Meghalaya. This village is located 65 kms away from Shillong. According to the Guinness Book of World Records Mawsynram received 26,000 millimetres (1,000 in) of rainfall in 1985. .   India 08Aug 2013.
